iRig PADS is an ultra-portable MIDI pad controller for iPhone/iPod touch/iPad and Mac/PC. Smaller than an iPad and less than 1' thick, iRig PADS makes it easy to play and control virtual drum, percussion and electronic instruments, anytime and anywhere. Sixteen velocity-sensitive, retro-lit, multi-colored rubber pads, in a standard 4x4 configuration, provide the perfect solution for laying down drum and percussion parts, as well as bass, loop, and electronic instrument parts. Each pad lights up in three different colors to react to your playing or in response to messages from your apps. iRig PADS is also equipped with two assignable knobs, a pushbutton rotary encoder, two buttons and a slider, all of which are programmable. iRig PADS is MIDI class-compliant, meaning it works with hundreds of music creation apps on iOS, Mac and PC, with no drivers to install.How it WorksiRig PADS can be connected to an iOS via the mini-DIN connector, or to a computer via the micro-USB port (when connected to an iOS can be supplied via the USB port, not to drain battery). The whole configuration of the unit is stored in 16 'Scenes', that the user can recall by pressing the SCENE button and then one of the 16 pads. The unit can send and receive MIDI data. iRig PADS sends MIDI data as MIDI notes ON/OFF and control changes to the host, and it can also receive MIDI data from the host to light up the PADS. This way any application that's MIDI compatible can give a visual feedback on the PADS color.
