The main difference is the design of the sled and mirror enclosure. The EL Series camera mount reverts back to a rigid sled system or AVM. The height is adjusted by the riser plates of the sled or AVM. It has two positions that will accommodate all cameras.(the G2 and T2 series have a fully adjustable camera height mount). This rigid system allows the unit to be more compact for storage and transport. It fits into a smaller case than the other comparable teleprompters.
